A Cleaner Brookline

Addressing climate change and protecting the environment is the most important
issue facing the world now, and will continue to be until every nation, state, and municipality takes serious action for a better future. For us in Brookline, the best thing we can do to combat climate change is to create a better urban space.[1] Denser housing lets people drive less, or not at all, which is essential to decarbonization.[2] Multi-family housing is also more energy efficient, reducing building emissions.[3] Further, Town Meeting needs to ensure that we are on track to meet the Select Board’s Climate Action Plan.[4] We should ensure a clean municipal electricity supply, increase building standards, and support clean energy projects that work in Brookline.
