Meet David

I’m a student living, studying, and voting in Brookline. I’m
committed to helping create a Brookline that works for everybody, as I would love to stay in Brookline after I graduate, and I know many others wish to live here as well. Unfortunately, Town Meeting hasn't acted to make a future in Brookline possible for everyone. That’s why I’m running.
I was introduced to Town Meeting as Brookline debated Article
9, a proposal to upzone two-family areas to three-family zoning. A simple reform, but a meaningful one to allow more housing. Then I watched Town Meeting shoot it down. I watched members stoke fears about parking and downplay the severity of our housing shortage. It was disappointing.
The difference between taking housing seriously and continued
delay? Eight votes. I’m running to be one of those votes. I’m running for students and renters like me. I’m running to be a young member of a Town Meeting where the median age is 61. I’m running for the 52% of Brookline that rents, while 85% of Town Meeting owns a home.
I enjoy biking around Brookline, playing frisbee, and going to
POSTunderground on Washington Street.
